Proposed perpetual trophies for Kadettfest & Run.
Got these in '84 from Austin McHale. His Manta 400 rally car was stored in our garage overnight during the Mayo stages rally and as a thanks he gave dad his winning trophies. Thinking of using the smaller cup for car of the run & the bigger trophy for the best overall at kadettfest. Both need a refurb & thinking of getting a base made up for each. Am open to any suggestions /ideas.

Very cool James! They'll look the job when cleaned up. What about mounting them on a nice piece of wood with a brass plaque saying 'Kadettfest 2012 - Car of the Run etc, etc.
I'll look into getting a momento for the recipients also.

I like the idea for the base Willie.
There has been a suggestion made that Zafira and GT models should be considered for static meet prize as they are based on kadett & astra platforms. Reckon its a valid point & a good idea. Opinions?

Yeah it's a good point, I'd say to include both. Sure as Donal says the more the merrier. Also if you need help let us know we're more than happy to help.

Contacted Western people and they dug the article below out of their archives from 1984. Confirms history of trophies.
