It is still an option to bring barbecue. Will depend on the weather though. Nearly barbecued my fingers last year trying to keep it lit in the gale.

Have settled on route for run. Drove it yesterday with Garmin to map it out. It will be under 2 hrs driving with possibly two stops which will bring it out to 3 hrs round trip. Details on the link below. I started at the car park so map will also show where meet is at.

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/456310521

There will be a change to the route on the map. On the return journey I detoured off the R314 and looped around towards Porturlin and rejoined the R314 before Belderrig. It is very scenic but the road is worse than I remembered and was not comfortable in a 00 Vectra. We will stay on the R314 instead.

First stop is planned along Carrowmore Lake. Road is narrow enough and there is only one lay by on it so this stop will be brief enough. Second stop will be at Ceide Fields site before Ballycastle. We can take our time at this spot, weather depending.

Hotel Ballina, was a great spot when we stayed over a few years ago.
