Ohhhh goody a reason for a spin

Just a quick update.

This year the format for Kadettfest will be different to the previous years. I have conceded to the elements

and will not be holding the static meet at the usual Asahi site. This year the meet will be held in a town center

car park in Ballina, Co. Mayo. The place used to be a yard for Beckets furniture store and is just off the main

market square car park. I will post pics & full directions to same on the Forum.



2014 is also the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Kadett E. It would be great to mark

the occasion by having as many Kadett E models together as possible and hopefully

gathering the entire model range for a group photo. So if you know anybody with a Kadett E

3Dr hatch, 5Dr hatch, 4Dr saloon, convertible, Estate, Van or Combo van, please do let them

know about the meet. I must also mention Kadettfest is open to all Opel / Vauxhall and

anyone with an interest in everything Opel / Vauxhall. The day is not just about Kadetts as

shown by Brian Conway’s overall drivers choice winning Ascona B from last year.





The plan is as follows.



11.00am – Meet in car park in Ballina.

Will hand out voting forms for drivers choice Best Kadett & Best overall as cars arrive.

12.30 Votes will be counted & drivers choices will be announced.

13.00 Food. Leaving the barbecue at home this year. There are a number of options

within walking distance for lunch or we could bring cars to Merry Monk pub on Killala Rd

for carvery. Open to feedback on this one.

14.30 to 16.30ish. Go for a drive. I have not finalized route for run yet as I am looking at three

options for this year. I will post run details on forum once I have settled on exact route.
