Joint meet with Blitz&Griffin in Galway on 2nd Sept 2012

Our own Ed Turner is organising a meet with our friends over on BlitzandGriffin.com on SEPTEMBER 2nd 2012. We were planning a Galway run at some stage this year so we may as well tag along to this one!

Meeting at 12 noon at Westwood House Hotel on N59 Galway - Spidal road (see link for map) http://www.westwoodhousehotel.com/galwa ... ontact.asp

Run will leave at 12.30 and will be from Westwood taking us up the N59 to Peacock hotel near Arderry - through Arderry - Derravonoff - Inveran - Photo's at Spiddal Harbour - on to Padraicins for Food.

If numbers are good we may extend the route, with recent developements numbers could be a good 20 cars if all goes well.

It looks like a good route. I don't hink i've ever been out that side of Galway so looking forward to it.
Can we start a rolling list as Ed will need an idea of numbers for grub.

Cheers Willie, if you alright Willie with it can those members coming have your say on which route you prefer.

as it is its an hr 35 mins driving with current shorter route, while the longer one will add about 40 mins on to that. With 30 mins stop at harbour for pics on top.


Looking at phoning food place around 16th, confirming numbers week after.

Cheers Ed. I'm not sure what the terrain is like out that side. Maybe Donal can give us and idea of what the roads and scenery are like on the extra part of the route and that'll help us make up our mind. He'll be on here tomorrow no doubt so we'll see what he says.

I know the roads and will help in any way i can no problem i will study route Mon or Tue and get back to you a bit busy with race week this week.

Roads are fine what I have seen just giving option on whether to do longer version or not, unless there road works on the go things appear from nowhere sometimes.

As it stands the original shorter trip prob good bet, not to long on road, time stop for pics and feed before everyone heads home an inch wider than they were in morning.

Sure we'll go with the shorter route so and if enough cars turn up on the day we can take the longer one. What do you think Ed?
